New Years Eve Date

Well, the whole family got in on the date we had on New Years Eve to celebrate the New Year and that Daddy was home with us for a whole week and a half!  We stopped at 360 Cafe (only our *favorite place in town to get coffee!  Super cheap and super yummy!) to get coffee for mom and dad and smoothies for the kiddos!  They opted to get strawberry/mango mix...mmmm... And were nice enough to give us 2 smoothies in 4 cups :)  Jaeger just sipped on everyone's and had fun being mischievous behind the couches.

Then we headed over to mom and dads where the kids had a sleepover!  They were so excited!  They told us they were going to make cookies and watch a movie!...which they did.  And once they were all settled in over there, Nathan and I (and Selah) went to a friends house (other parents from the school the kids attend), where they were having a big gathering to play games and to ring in the new year.  Nathan, of course, got a game of "spoons" going....which I think most people have a love/hate relationship with.  There were a few people that loved playing, but ended up with hurt fingers or hands trying to grab the spoons.  It came with lots of laughs like always though.  Then we played some Catch Phrase which most people hadn't played before so it was a new hit among some!  That was followed by a few rounds of Farkel.  Besides it being freezing cold in the house (their old house doesn't have insulation), it was a nice time.  We ate, laughed, and fellowshipped til the New Year arrived.  We were the last ones out the door at 12:30.  We went home, crashed, and wished we didn't have to get up in the morning.

But we did and Nathan was off to my parents to go get some new dressers for us from some friends of theirs.  This is one piece of it.  They originally brought it downstairs in T & C's room but once I got home and saw it, I thought it was way too nice to be where they can destroy it.  So after much begging, my handsome hubby helped me carry it back upstairs to our room.  I love it! (although its not black!...)

When Nathan was busy getting this and others and going back to my parents to be with the kids, I went to Salvation Army and did my annual clothes shopping when all their clothes are half off!  I got some stuff for me and the kids, plus I found some black boots that were also half off.  Can't beat that!

Christmas Day!

Today was a nice and relaxed Christmas Day. The day consisted of opening presents in the morning, Nathan pretty much making cmas dinner for us & his parents (ham, chateau potatoes, & broccoli/cauliflower bake), and playing games. (I won most of the rounds of our new Duck Dynasty game btw :) )

Yesterday was had cmas eve at my parents. It was snack type food for lunch, church at 3, traditional fondue supper, and presents after. The kids had a blast and I even got my dad & brother & SIL to play a game! We tried out our new wits & wagers game. They liked it more than we did, but it was fun :)

2 months!

That was on Monday. Today (Wednesday) was her first try at the bumbo chair. She did awesome and sat in it for a long time!

I'm speechless. Anyone pregnant or even thinking about having kids needs to watch the video she links to at the end of the article. It's EXTREMELY difficult to watch and more so with the volume on. If anyone says that babies don't feel this, listen to this little guy. And 20,000 nerve endings?...think about that. Wow. Please be informed before you make your decision. (on baby circumcision)

I think anyone could tell that my kids are ready for warmer weather and that its been rather cold here for a loooong time. Caedmon comes in from outside "Mom! It's summer out there!! It's SMOOPER hot!" Temp says '42 feels like 35' Ha!

Here's a tip for reducing your amt of laundry: have the guys (esp) in your home dry off with a hand towel after a shower/bath. They don't have hair to wrap up in it and a lot more of those can fit in the wash then big bath towels!!

Anyone need a couch??? Both ends recline (but one side is fussier than the other) tan color. Pretty good condition, although there are a few small spots on the seat parts. Makes a great extra 'downstairs' couch or one you dont care about the sides ruining  $25 and its yours! You come pick up.

9 years ago this morning, I was getting my hair done to prepare for my wedding that day. This morning, I was surrounded in bed (& on the floor) with 5 littles kids, in a home that's over 15 moves later. Wow, things have changed but I am beyond blessed to have Nathan as my husband. We are like 2 peas in a pod and I seriously love him more and more each and every day! (This basket of goodies was given to us by a sweet 17 yr old young lady for our Anniversary! Its filled with sparkling grape juice, wine glasses, candles, plates, gelato, grapes, cheese,candy, and pizza! Perfect for a date night in!)

So I started this 'ticket system' with the kids where they earn tickets for their behavior, attitude, and listening right away. I am BLOWN AWAY at how well it is working!!! Everything I have asked or told them to do, it's "Yes, Mom!" and it's done immediately!!! They even stay in their bed at night!!! That's pretty much a miraculous event... Lovin' these tickets!!

My new "mud room"--cubbies and hooks!!! This was a *bare white* wall when we moved in and thanks to Jonathan and Becky for picking up the shelves at IKEA and my dad for building the rest, we now have a place for coats, shoes, etc!!! (And I painted the wall black behind it to make it look built-in...my little trick  I LOVE IT!

So I just learned that the local restaurant Frugals (over by Walmart in Sartell) serves burgers made from grass-fed beef!!!! What!!! Totally awesome!! I needa try....
