Not sure how she always finds something to get stuck under, but she does!! (Probably doesn't help that she only scoots backwards and not forwards!)
Even after 5.5 years of life on the road is finally done, the excitement continues while raising our six children...all while relying on God's grace.

Quick One!
Yes, it was my birthday yesterday! So how did I spend it? Well....
I woke up at about 5am to get the kids up and ready to leave for MN! We were heading up to my parents house by 6:30am and spent the whole day in the car!...great birthday huh?! :)
Since my dad traveled down to our place on Sunday, he caravaned back with us with a few things we will store while living on the road. One of the things is our bed, which my parents will use in their guest room (so if you stay at my parents house now, you'll actually have a nice bed to sleep in!!). BUT...it was a pain to keep that thing wrapped in the 30-40 mph wind and rain on the way back! The guys wrapped it in plastic and used 2 rolls of duct tape to secure the plastic and a bunch of ropes, bungies, etc but we still had to stop a few times to fix it. We made it to my parents house by about 4pm.
We had planned to just drop the boys off with my parents so we could enjoy an evening out without having the little rugrats with us...but, the plans changed pretty quick.
Once we got here, the kids wanted to play outside, so within a few mins, Tiernan crawled into the van to get his coat, shut the side door behind him which he couldn't open so he crawled out the front door, and pressed the lock button on his way out. The keys were still in it. Along with my purse, Ariella's carseat, etc. Ugh....
So Dad was quick thinking to call their neighbor who owns a car dealership. All he had to do was give the guy the VIN # of the van and he made us a spare key! The only problem was that he didn't drop it off until he got off work, which was close to 7pm.
We still went into town and had a nice dinner at Mongo's grill, but by the time we got done with that, everything else was closed. So i took a rain check on my birthday and after our dentist appts today, we'll do our shopping :)
Little boys stay with grandpa ron and the big boy stays with grandma mary...should be nice!

Not Me! Monday
I totally did not just realize that when my oldest SON slept in a bed (the bed that we gave away now so he sleeps on the floor in a sleeping bag) he was not using a pink pillow case with a purple flowered blanket! I mean, come on!..who would let their little boy sleep with all pink and purple?! Not me!
I have completely been on the ball with getting dressed and into other clothes besides my lounge clothes first thing in the morning so Caedmon would have no reason to look at me when I did get dressed one day and say "You going to church Mom?" ...because I do have other reasons to get dressed!
I have not been using paper plates all week with my kids because I would not be so lazy as to wash dishes, Nope! Not me!
And I most certainly did not pick up my cell phone the other day only to hold it to my hear to listen for a dial tone before dialing and wondering why I didn't hear anything, because that would be completely silly since we've only had cell phones for almost 4 years, Nope! Not me!
And these are completely not my kids at the table, one licking the floor while the ohter licks the table! Nope! Not my kids! I would never allow such ridiculous manors happening at our table!

Ice Breakers
Nathan and I had one of the most fun nights together that we've had in quite awhile. And you know what we did???....Just talked!!
But what do we talk about besides 'how was your day?' and 'what did the kids break today?' Well, last night we both wrote down a bunch of questions and asked them to each other! We were reminded of the idea the other night when our friends were over here and they told us they played "The Newlywed Game" at a couples bridal shower. After hearing about the fun they had (and that they tied for 1st place!), we got to thinking "would we be able to answer each other's questions correctly?...how well do we really know each other?"
So we each got a piece of paper out and wrote down random questions that were either thought provoking or that we really didn't know about the other person. Nathan listed them on his own (and he thought of some GREAT questions!) and I cheated and used google to find some :) You can google 'ice breaker questions' and get tons of sites with great conversation starters and questions to ask anyone to get to know them better.
What were some of my favorites or that got us talking a lot?
1) If your life was a book, what would the title be? (Nathan thought of that, isn't that good?!)
2) How many kids do we want to have? (HA! Don't you wish you knew the answer?! :)
3) What's your favorite tree?
4) If you could have an endless supply of one food, what would it be?
5) If you could perform miracles, which one would it be?
6) Describe yourself using 3 words? (We answered this one for each other. Nathan said I was "entrepreneurial, chef, and feisty" haha!..to which he also added that it's a "good feisty" fightin' for what I believe is right, etc :) And I said he was "hardworking, dedicated, and passionate".
7)What don't you want said at your funeral.
8)What's the first thing you think about when you get up in the morning? (Nathan answered "what are the kids into?" hehe :)
9) What's one thing that I miss most since living life on the road?
So those are just a few examples of the questions we asked and tried to answer for each other. We, seriously, haven't had so much fun just talking in a long time!
I would encourage all you couples out there to invest some time in your spouse and ask them some random questions tonight. Ya never know where it could end up! Have fun!!

Evening Stroll
It was so nice out here a week or so ago, we decided to take a little stroll when Daddy got home from work! The boys were so excited to be OUT and free to run (well, kinda free...as free as you can be walking on the sidewalks in town...). They also loved the fact that they could play in all the leaves that were scattered along the sidewalk. We decided to end the walk with a treat from the DQ! Our kids had never had a dilly bar before, so we got them one and boy was it a treat!!
P.S. We got some word today about the move...looks like it will take place around the second week in Dec...and then off to the East Coast!! We go on Monday to do our 'walk-thru' of the rv to make sure we know how everything works since we're new at this and all!...and then also to load up some of our stuff!! Stay tuned for
updates!
And like I said to Nathan earlier today...."LET'S GET READY TO RUMMMMMBLE!!!...I mean, MOOOOVVE!!! :)

So What Exactly Does He Do Anyway??
So as most of you know, we've been essentially traveling around for the past 2-1/2 years going from job to job in different locations and states with Nathan's company that he works for. But what is it that he actually does for a living? Well here's the answer!!
He is a heavy equipment operator for an electrical contractor. He works on a crew with about 5-6 guys on it (most of the time) that puts up big transmission lines. Sometimes the lines are needed because they needed to carry energy generated by the windmills and other times the lines go up to replace the old existing line. When the latter is the case, then they have to go through and wreck out the older wooden poles/lines and put up their new, big steel ones.
He operates the big 'manly' equipment like bull dozers, cranes, tentioner, puller, lead line machine, rope machine, track hoe, back hoe, skid steer...stuff like that!
He also does some other stuff like haul poles out to the job site where they belong from the yard, move equipment from one location to the other, and keep track of inventory, etc.
And then once they finish a line, they pick up and go somewhere else in the country to put up another one! Sometimes a line takes 5 months to finish, some take a few years...just depending how long the line is and how many crews they have working on it! So far the jobs that we've been on have been 1 yr, 5 months, 6 months, and 7 months. (Making this next move be our 5th move and 4th state in 2-1/2 years!)
I've been meaning to take a picture of the line here since we go under part of it on the way to the farm to get milk but I keep forgetting! So for now I'll just post the picture that another lady whos husband works for the same company took.
And as for when this job is done...well, I've been told that they only have "one more wire pull" (whatever that means!) left to do which should take about a week. Then comes clean-up etc. We don't know how long Nathan will be a part of clean-up or whatever so hopefully he'll find out tomorrow at his meeting!
So for now we continue to wait and get packed to move into the RV!!! For that I am SUPER EXCITED!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!

Not Me! Monday
...and mixing with another version called "Not My Child! Monday....
I was not told that Caedmon did not turn around to the sunday school teacher that took him potty at church and said "get out" before he'd go...Nope...because my kids are always polite! Nope, Not my child!
Tiernan did not try to tip the water filter system to get the last bit of water in it and end up knocking it over and breaking the filtering elements in it. And they do not cost $99 to replace, Nope! Not my child!
And then Tiernan did not trip over Brayan and bonk his head on a chair and gave himself a big gash on the back of his head...which I did not have to shave his head so I band-aid could stick to it, Nope! Not my child!
While we were sleeping last night, we did not hear Caedmon wake up crying only to find that he did not have a bloody nose that was dripping everywhere, Nope! Not my child!
And all those things did not happen within 10 hours of eachother making it a very eventful night at our house...because stuff like that just doesn't happen over here when you have 3 boys, 4 and under! Nope!
Oh, and I also did not have just brownies (made with coconut oil and honey!) and asparagus for supper the other night. I mean, who in the world would do that!? Nope! Not me!!

If You Give a Mom a Muffin
by Kathy Fictorie
If you give a mom a muffin,
She'll want a cup of coffee to go with it.
She'll pour herself some.
The coffee will get spilled by her 3-yr-old,
She'll wipe it up.
Wiping the floor, she will find some dirty socks.
She'll remember she has to do some laundry.
When she puts the laundry in the washer,
She'll trip over some snow boots and bump into the freezer.
Bumping into the freezer will remind her she has to plan supper for tonight.
She will get out a pound of hamburger.
She'll look for her cookbook. (101 Things to Make with a Pound of Hamburger)
The cookbook is sitting under a pile of mail.
She will see the phone bill which is due tomorrow.
She will look for her checkbook.
The checkbook is in her purse that is being dumped out by her 2-yr-old.
While she is changing the 2-yr-old the phone will ring.
(of course!)
Her 5-yr-old will answer it and hang up.
She remembers that she wants to phone a friend to come for coffee on Friday.
Thinking of coffee will remind her that she was going to have a cup.
She will pour herself some.
And chances are,
If she has a cup of coffee,
Her kids will have eaten the muffin that went with it.
Isn't this so true?! The last line is esp true with my boys!!

Kids Say The Darndest Things!
Have a laugh... :)
After asking Tiernan to go downstairs and get the cherries out of the freezer, he came up, handed them to me and says "I know these are the cherries because they have tails."
While walking along the brick ledge at church, Caedmon fell off (imagine that!...mr. graceful..) and landed on the cement sidewalk. Since I was holding Ariella in one hand and my purse/bible/toys/blankets/bag in the other while trying to keep Brayan out of the parking lot and telling Tiernan to stay by me, an older gentleman came over and picked Caedmon up and made sure he was alright. After Nathan got home, Caedmon was telling him about the experience...."But I'm okay cuz Jesus picked me up!"
I was sitting in the chair when Tiernan came up and stood by me and started sniffing my hair. "Mmmmm.." he said, thinking he was referring to the smell of my shampoo or something. I asked "Do you smell something? What does Mommy smell like?" He answers "Like a doggie!"
Tiernan asked for a snack the other day and to his question I answered "Sure!" He got all excited and turned to Caedmon and says "Sure means yes...it's Smamish"

Not Me! Monday
I totally did not lock my keys in my car while it was running, with my phone in it, along with my baby...Nope! Not me! And then I wasn't totally grateful that Nathan was home and that I knew where the spare key was so he could just run the spare a couple blocks to me at my landlords business. And since locking your keys in the car with you baby in it is completely irresponsible, I totally did not do it!
When it was time to go to church, I was not having a difficult time with the kids' shoes and finding the correct ones so I did not put Brayan's tennis shoes on without socks on and let him go like that. Nor did I put socks on Caedmon, only to let him wear his sandals, nope! Not me! And since it was Caedmon's shoes I couldn't find, I didn't just let him wear Tiernan's sandals because those would be way too big and would probably be falling off at church, giving attention to the fact that he was wearing socks with his sandals!...which didn't even fit him! Nope! Not me!
And while picking up the living room, I did not pick up clothes that I knew weren't dirty and put them into the dirty clothes pile just so I wouldn't have to put them away. Nope! Because I would never make more work for myself in the long run just because I was lazy for a moment. Nope! Not me!
So what didn't you do this week??

New "Shop"
I've created a new webpage "shop" to post all my I Spy Bags and Aprons I have for sale! I've started creating new bags and am totally lovin' it! It's a slow process getting all my inventory on this new site, but you can check it out in it's beginning stages!
It's located on a site call Etsy.com and maybe some of you have heard of it before? It's where anyone can post anything that's homemade or vintage but nothing else. It's become my favorite site since I love homemade stuff! You can find anything from clothes to furniture to toys...if someone can make it, it'll be on there!
Anyway, you can still order thru my other blog to see patterns available, etc but just lettin' ya know that I'll have things posted on here as well!!
Stop by for a visit!! Just click here True Delights and make sure you check back every so often to see more items!!

What Color is YOUR Wal-mart??
I never really thought too much about the color of our Walmart until my sister came to visit me and she said "Why is your Wal-Mart green??" I'm like 'what do you mean?' Then I realized that, yes, all of the Wal-Marts I've seen before have been blue. And since my sister lives in "Walmartville USA", she should know what color Wal-marts are, right??
So I googled the color of Wal-mart stores and came to find there was even a blog about it asking people to comment about what color their Wal-mart was and what city/state they lived in. People wrote saying colors red, blue, green and tan. Some have the theories that blue store are just the 'regular' Wal-marts and the greens are the 'super' Wal-marts...but I've seen super Wal-marts both green and blue...so then I'd have no idea what the red ones are for?!
So if you'd like, leave a comment as to what color your Wal-mart is and what city or state you live in and maybe we'll come up with a consenses as to why they choose the colors that they do!
I'll start: Our Wal-mart is green, Seward NE.

I'll start: Our Wal-mart is green, Seward NE.

Not Me! Monday
Here is the first of my "Not Me!" Mondays!
What exactly is "Not Me!" Monday? Well, it's a blog carnival created by MckMama, another blogger, and it's where you don't admit stuff that you didn't do during the previous week!
And I always have way too many of these to not share, so here is goes! Hope you can have a laugh! If you want to check out MckMama's and her readers "Not Me!" Mondays, just visit her blog on Mondays!
For example, I totally did not bribe my children with a box of Little Debbie snacks if they were good in Wal-Mart because we always eat heathly and never buy Little Debbie snacks.
Nor did I sneak a Little Debbie snack when we got home all the way to the basement so the kids wouldn't hear me open it so I could eat it in peace without sharing! Nope! Not Me!
And I totally did not trick Brayan into coming to me when he was half way down the sidewalk when he was supposed to be in the van, by pointing to the ground and saying "Look!" because my kids always listen to me and always come when called!
I totally did not decide I was thirsty and in too much of a hurry to grab a glass so I just too a swig straight from the juice container! And then when the kids saw me and wanted some, I did not just let them drink straight from the container too because that would be gross and we are much more sophisticated than that! Nope! Not me!
